Occasional Papers - the PHS is pleased to announce a series of Occasional Papers to deal in some depth with matters of historical importance. The first of these, is now available on CD as a pdf file.. The period covered by this work is from 1946 to the present day and is presented against the background of the National Plastics Expositions in the USA. The author, Glenn L. Beall, is an American-based Product Designer, Inventor, Lecturer and Historian of the plastics industry and is a Distinguished Member of the Society of Plastics Engineers who was inducted into the Plastics Hall of Fame in 1977. The 'video format' DVDs run on PCs running Windows with appropriate DVD hard/ software such as WMP, Nero Showtime or PowerDVD as well as on TV/video players. The MPEG-4 digital versions run on DVD & CD drives, the latter using such software as Quicktime (PC & Macs), WMP and Nero Showtime but not on my TV/video player. I do not have the facilities to check every possible option but will swap one format for the other if anyone has problems.
