75 Years of Polyethylene: Past Successes and Future Challenges

A one-day meeting to mark the 75 years of scientific and technological development since the discovery of polyethylene by Reginald Gibson and Eric Fawcett on 27 March 1933

At the Dana Centre, London on 27 March 2008

A series of presentations on the Discovery, Developments and Challenges together with the unique opportunity to visit the Plastics Exhibition in the Science Museum and see the original equipment used by Gibson and Fawcett in the discovery of polyethylene

 

Speakers: Harold Fielding, Jamie Hobbs (Sheffield), Peter Hine (Leeds),

Walter Kaminsky (Hamburg), John Sale (British Polythene Industries) and Simon Sutton (Dow)

 

The meeting will start at 11am (10.15am onwards for registration and

close at 5.45pm).   Registration is £90, £45 for students and includes the registration and refreshments including lunch.
